Along with using seasonal produce and celebrating it's abundance in our area, I am finding myself cooking up a lot more Asian-inspired dishes this summer. From Indian curries to stir-fries, I love the flavors I am gaining the confidence to play with!
Last night I tried a new recipe for a Vietnamese-inspired dish. Honestly, I haven't had the opportunity to try much food from that region and would love to someday, but this dish was simple and flavorful. My husband and I gobbled it up served over jasmine rice, thinking the only thing that would make it even better would be adding some mushrooms. However, this is my husband's comment to most savory dishes, as he is a savvy mushroom savant.
Give Vietnamese Lime Pepper Stir Fry a try and let me know what you think. It is a meat-centric dish, but you can always make it your own with veggies or tofu. The sauce is the key, the salty/tart/spicy flavor is what ties the dish together.
